    According to statistics, the elderly population in Hong Kong is estimated to reach 2 million in 2033. As the ageing process continues, Hong Kong society needs to further enhance its awareness to opportunities driven by population aging and the public should be encouraged to learn more about goals and visions of age friendly city.<\/p>\n

    Thus, a forum named u0022Age-friendly City\u2014New Opportunities for Socio-demographic Agingu0022 was held by HKCSS on 12 December 2012. On the forum, we were honored to have the participation and sharing from members of International Federation on Ageing. The forum also further facilitated the interaction between business and social service sectors, which founded the bases of their jointly facing tremendous silver-hair market and their commitment to building Hong Kong into an age friendly city.<\/p>\n
