    \n Caring Company ~ Community Visit – Hong Chi Pinehill Integrated Vocational Training Centre <\/h1>\n

    Hong Chi Association is a non-profit making organisation in Hong Kong dedicated to serving 7,000 people of all ages and all grades of intellectual disabilities and their families. It now operates 75 service units which provide pre-school training, special education, job training, sheltered and supported employment, adult education, day care and training, residential services, family and community support, recreational and social programmes, as well as professional therapy.<\/p>\n

    More than 20 Caring Company and Caring Organisation representatives visited Pinehill Village which is located in Tai Po on July 9, 2010. To cope with the need of service development for people with intellectual disabilities, Hong Chi Association has explored and expanded its services in the Village in different aspects of its work including: u0022Hong Chi Children Homeu0022(providing household service), Pinehill Village School, Pinehill Village Advanced Training Centre, The Jockey Club Hong Chi Lodge (providing training in hotel housekeeping and catering services) and the Hong Chi Farmstead. Visitors showed their great interests towards the services of Hong Chi Association and agreed the potentialities of children with intellectual disabilities. Some of them even discussed the feasibility for cooperation in a hope to provide more opportunities for the trainee.<\/p>\n

    Hong Chi Pinehill Pottery – the studio supports trainees with intellectual disabilities to develop their artistic talents and pottery skills.<\/p>\n

    Hong Chi Farmstead – Young adults with intellectual disabilities are taught to practise organic farming and gardening skills under supervision of instructor.<\/p>\n
