The Cathay Pacific Community Flight 2017 was successfully held on 21 May 2017 with the theme of “Inspiring Strength through Togetherness”.  Around 16 organisations participated the writing competition in last summer, 8 schools / NGOs were finally selected to join the Community Flight.

The Cathay Pacific Community Flight 2016 was successfully held on 17 January 2016 with the theme of “Giving thanks”, aims at encouraging young people to be more appreciative of the people and environment surrounding them.  Around 20 NGOs participated the drawing competition under the theme of “Giving Thanks” in last summer, 6 NGOs were finally selected to join the Community Flight, they were Hong Kong Christian Service Shamshuipo Central Happy Teens Club, HKFYG Jockey Club Tin Yuet Youth S.P.O.T., H.K.S.K.H. Lady MacLehose Centre After School Care Service, H.K.S.K.H. Lady MacLehose Centre Neighbourhood Level Community Development Project, Mong Kok Kai Fong Association Limited, Chan Hing Social Service Centre and Silence.

Cathay Pacific Community Flight 2015 – Upholding Family Solidarity

The Cathay Pacific Community Flight 2015 was successfully held on 1 Feb 2015 with some 200 residents from 60 less-advantaged families enjoying an once-in-a-lifetime trip over the city, among the participants this year were people who are intellectually disabled and visually impaired. With the theme of Upholding Family Solidarity, all these families who have never flown together before got a memorable experience during which they could spend quality time together and work to strengthen family bonds.

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited (CX) operated a Community Flight on 27 Jan 2013.  HKCSS is pleased to be the Supporting Organisation of the event.  About 200 residents from some 80 low income single-parent families are invited to the event via the network of 5 participating NGOs (Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council, International Social Service Hong Kong Branch, Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service – Hong Kong, Hong Kong Single Parents Association and Kwun Tong Methodist Social Service).

In 2014, the campaign was organised again in the theme of “Spirit of Hong Kong” on 26 Jan, over 160 residents from 69 less-advantaged families stepped onboard “Spirit of Hong Kong” aircraft through creative works done by kite and comic design, writing and photography in demonstrating how to uphold the true spirit of Hong Kong in daily lives.
