PROcruit C Online Graduation Ceremony

PROcruit C is a one-year professional traineeship programme, offering job opportunities to first-time job-seekers who are interested to explore career options in the area of Business for Good. The programme is initiated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charitable Trust, and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) is the industry convenor in the area of Business for Good.

The first and second cohort of trainees have successfully completed their one-year traineeship, and the two graduation ceremonies have been held online on 23 Feb and 25 Apr 2022 respectively. All trainees, representatives of participating companies, the Hong Kong Jockey Club and other PROcruit C partners have participated in the events.

Mr Cliff Choi, Business Director of HKCSS, encouraged the trainees at the opening remarks, ‘today’s ceremony marks a completion of the one-year traineeship, it also represents a new chapter in your career. With the belief of u0022Caringu0022, no matter in which industry or position, you can create shared value for our society and bring opportunities for sustainable development’. Cliff has taken this opportunity to thank all participating companies for offering job opportunities to nurture young talent, and allowing trainees to have an in-depth understanding of the work in sustainability while the importance of performing corporate social responsibility.

On behalf of Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, Ms Petula Lam, Senior Project Manager of Charities, congratulated all the trainees for completing the PROcruit C journey. She encouraged everyone to keep growing and move towards the next milestone. She shared the programme impact that the self-evaluation results from trainees showed continuous growth in terms of employability and competencies including the aspects of career planning, reflection and learning, resilience, soft skills etc. Employers also speak highly of trainees’ positive work attitude and improvement throughout the year. We are more than happy to know that over half number of trainees stay on the post after the completion of the traineeship.

Two trainees have shared their works and feelings in PROcruit C while their employers shared their observation on their trainees. In the sharing, the employers’ support and encouragement to the trainees are fully demonstrated. For example, the employers have tailor-made on-the-job training plan to enhance trainees’ skillset and provide different opportunities to broaden trainees’ understanding of sustainability.
