Many overseas buyers are now requiring ethical sourcing to be one of the selection criteria in choosing suppliers through applying international standards on CSR. Taking up corporate social responsibilities, for example, being environmental friendly, participating in community involvement programmes, etc, can benefit both the community and the company itself. These activities will lead to benefits like customer retention, cost reduction, staff absenteeism reduction, etc, which are vital for the sustainability of a company. As a result, SMEs are also encouraged to take part in CSR.
Speaker, Mr Cliff Choi, Business Director of HKCSS, introduced the Caring Company Scheme.
