“The CSR Guide for SMEs in Hong Kong” Workshop and Seminar Series held successfully

Funded by the Sustainable Development Fund, 21 seminars and 3 workshops of u0022The CSR Guide for SMEs in Hong Kongu0022 (the CSR Guide) were successfully held by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service and CSR Asia from June to November 2011. Making reference to the CSR Guide, the workshops and seminars introduced concepts and best practices on CSR and related topics, such as how to enhance SME’s competitiveness and brand value through practicing CSR, how to organize effective community projects, low carbon office and work-life balance, etc. The training series was well-received and attended by over 800 company representatives. Most of them found that the CSR Guide was practical and agreed that CSR can enhance their competitiveness and sustainability.
The CSR Guide and training series were well-supported by many organisations in Hong Kong. They included the Trade and Industry Department, SME Centre of Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, Hong Kong Productivity Council, The Hong Kong Brand Development Council, Hong Kong Retail Management Association, The American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, The Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium Business, amongst others.

The 3 workshops were successfully held in June, July and September respectively, with guest speakers invited to share their success stories.
Co-organised with the SME Centre of Hong Kong Trade and Development Council on August 4 – the u0022SME Brand Building – Enhancing competitiveness through practicing CSRu0022 seminar was well-attended.
Some of the CSR seminars included group discussions, allowing in-depth discussions and sharing among speakers and participants.
