The seminar on u0022Understanding Current Social Issues u0026amp; Leveraging Business-NGO Partnership that Creates Social Impactu0022 was successfully held on 26 September 2012 with over 80 participants. Speakers included representatives from HKCSS, Mr Anthony Wong, Chief Research Officer (Policy Research and Advocacy), and Mr Cliff Choi, Business Director (Public Engagement u0026amp; Partnership). They shared topics on Trends of Social Development, current Social Challenges and how the business sector could respond through collaborating with community partners, as well as practical tips of CSR participation by corporations in Hong Kong.
Besides, four guest speakers were invited to share their success stories. They were Mr Jackson Lai, Associate Manager, Staffing, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Mr Nicky Chan, Centre Manager (Lok Mo Integrated Vocational Training Centre), Caritas-Hong Kong, u0022Apprenticeship Program for People with Disabilitiesu0022 and Ms Agnes LAU, Public Affairs Manager – Community Investment, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, and Mr Raymond CHIU, Service Coordinator (Training u0026amp; Employment Service), Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service, u0022Hotmeal Canteenu0022. Through this seminar, the participants understood more about the current social issues in Hong Kong.
