JC PROcruit C – Completion of Traineeship for All Cohorts

Initiated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charitable Trust, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) participated in the JC PROcruit C (the Project) as the Industry Convener of Business for Good last year. Through the Project, we offered job opportunities to those young graduates who want to explore career options in a caring industry, i.e. corporate social responsibility (CSR).

A series of on-job training, soft skills training, and coaching have been offered to 47 trainees throughout the one-year traineeship to embrace their talents to innovate and contribute to a better society.

With the completion of the last cohort in July, JC PROcruit C has also come to an end. The Project allows youths to fully understand the meaning of CSR, which is no longer a one-way business model on ‘giving back’ to society but has extended to various concepts such as ‘Creating Shared Values’ (CSV), ‘Environment, Social and Governance’ (ESG) and Sustainability Development. A broad career ladder can be seen in this caring industry as CSR has become a professional job that can affect business strategies and development, and bring a positive impact to society.

Mr. Cliff Choi, the Business Director of HKCSS, encouraged cohort 3 trainees at their online graduation ceremony on 5 July 2022, ‘Every job has its meaning and social values. Experience gained along your traineeship journey will become the stepping stone of your future path.’ He reminded youths to apply their profession and caring mindset in their future careers and to promote the CSR concept. Last but not least, he thanked all the participating companies for engaging in CSR development and offering job opportunities to nurture young talents.
