EVENT HIGHLIGHT

“Nurturing the New Generations” Seminar and Networking Fair

21.11.2018

The seminar aims to explore the possible cooperation between business sector and social services institutes in bringing more channels to youth career planning. The seminar was held on November 7, 2018. Case sharing projects included: u0022Career Navigator For Youthu0022, u0022CLAP for Youth at JCu0022, and u0022True Coloursu0022 Autism Support Service and u0022The Pioneeru0022, the one-year work placement programme for non-Chinese speakers.

Cases sharing highlight stories of young people from low- and middle-income families or adolescents with High Functioning Autism and non-Chinese speakers how they find their job orientation. With different backgrounds and cultures, as long as planning and jobs placement are coordinated, the so-called minorities can still find their position in the workplace. Effective communication in the workplace requires understanding and inclusion. Once you find a suitable communicative approach, you can cultivate more talents.

Participants from the business sector demonstrate high interest to explore the cooperation with the NGO. This event may serve as a catalyst to next coming project.
